ECTA Annual Meeting 2025 Outlook

Get ready for the ECTA Annual Meeting 20.11.2025 and our great speakers!
This year, we are taking a look into a new topic we have not addressed before: Artificial Intelligence in Logistics – because we do see the chances and benefits for our members by implementing existing and emerging AI technologies.
Nonetheless, we furthermore will provide facts, prognosis and case studies of our industry under the umbrella of “chemical outlook” in our morning session.

Morning session

Our morning session will be opened by Moncef Hadri of Cefic, chief economist. He will talk about the EU27 Chemical Industry and its latest Developments.
His presentation will be followed by the question: “How does the rail constructions planning in Germany look like in the coming years?” Yvonne Bounin, Head of Sales and Communication at DB InfraGO AG, will inform you about managing the balancing act between stable rail capacities and operations as well as increased investment and maintenance measures.

The morning session furthermore will include practical experiences and learnings from FMCG on how to achieve sustained growth in combined transport, presented by Valentina Tundo, Strategic Sourcing Lead, Carrier Management & 3PL Sub Co’s, Europe of Chep.

To close the morning topic, we will host a panel with the above speakers to get answers to your questions. 

Afternoon session

The afternoon session of the ECTA Annual Meeting will focus on AI in chemical logistics. At first, Frans Cruijssen, Professor of Analytics for Sustainable Development at Tilburg University and director at the Zero Hunger Lab, will inform you about Creating True Value with Artificial Intelligence in Logistics.
His presentation will be followed by practical examples of the application of AI in the Chemical Industry, presented by Luca Senis, head of European Road Logistics & Intermodal Mode, of Dow.

Before the afternoon session heads to its Panel discussion, Stefan Bartens, globally responsible for logistics procurement-for surface transportation and warehousing as Vice President, will share a showcase on Digitalization of truck processes at site BASF Ludwigshafen.

The afternoon will be almost closed with a Panel existing of Frans Cruijssen, Luca Senis and Stefan Bartens, to answer any questions on digitalization and  AI in chemical logistics.

To close the afternoon session, the ECTA team will give an update on the ECTA Safety, Sustainability,  Women in Logistics and Digitalization achievements and award the loading places who actively contributed to driver wellbeing via the ECTA Drivers App.

Before the event heads to its dinner with its dinner speaker Wouter Van Haaften, leader of a strategy consultancy focused 100% on Generative AI, who will talk about The Impact of Generative AI in Chemical Logistics, the ECTA Team will update you on its initiatives, projects and involvements.
