ECTA Drivers APP – Latest view on Chemical truck driver well being
ECTA can now look back to nine more months of truck drivers ratings within the chemical industry. We investigated the performance to analyze the improvements made by (un)loading places after several reporting outs by ECTA.
Learnings first half of 2025
First of all it is important to highlight, that the numbers of listed (un)loading locations in the ECTA Drivers APP have increased since the last published analysis, which means that numbers and benchmarks differ compared to 2024.
The September “Year to Date” 2025 performance benchmark for the industry shows, that the factor Safety scores highest both at the bottom and top 25% chemical industry performers – varying from 3.48 to 4.85%
This 2025 benchmark reflects that the biggest improvement gap between the top 25% and bottom 25% is found in the category Facilities. Looking deeper into the reviews, reasons for negative comments are most often unhygienic restrooms or missing appropriate waiting areas for drivers.

Another positive change visible is that the 2025 YTD benchmark of the bottom 25% performers did improve in the categories waiting time and truck driver treatment.
Residence time comparison of 2024 and 2025 data
While comparing the driver ratings of 2024 and 2025 (first six months), a positive trend regarding residence time is visible. It is clear to see that we received less reports for 4+ hours and more for less than 2 hours residence time in 2025.
ECTA strongly recommends to keep the (un)loading time under 3 hours.
