ecta rc days 2025 recap

Steve Rowland, ECTA Responsible Care Director, shares his thoughts on the ECTA Responsible Care event held on October 8-9, 2025.

This is the first time that we have combined a SHEQ training day with the usual annual RC Workshop and it was a great success.

Many of the delegates for the training day also stayed for the workshop on the following day and the feedback has been very positive. One delegate on the training day commented “It was a well-organized event with clear explanations and valuable content. It offered added value both for beginners and for those with more advanced knowledge. The mix between listening and interactive activities was well-balanced and enjoyable.”

Overall, the feedback forms indicated a score  4.6 out of 5 for both days with the venue and its facilities also scoring highly for the convenience of its location and the quality of the food in particular.

For the RC workshop, the topics covered on the agenda and the quality of the speakers both scored well and I think, personally, that the round table discussions were as lively and engaging as we have had.

One delegate at the workshop commented “Interesting to discuss topics with other companies of your business and to learn from their experiences. I think that’s the advantage of the physical event, because the information out of the presentations are quite good to share online as well. So I see the advantage mainly in networking.” It is, for me, both enjoyable and productive to meet with colleagues in the RC community face to face in a world where most of our interaction is online.

In summary, ECTA together with the T&RC team,  delivered a great 2 days workshop through the quality of content, presentation and discussion but we are never complacent. Ideas suggested for next year include updates from the vehicle manufacturers and perhaps a presentation from a driver to illustrate what their daily life involves. We will certainly keep these in mind as we work towards next years event.
