Do and Do not Checklist for Meetings

These ECTA Do and Do not rules are in compliance with national and European competition laws and aim to give guidance for (non)commercial communication during webinars and/or meetings.

DO

  • Have an ECTA representative at each ECTA organized meeting
  • Have an agenda and minutes that accurately reflect what is discussed, as well as an attendance list, and make sure that these documents are preserved
  • Consult with company counsel or specialized counsel on all questions related to competition law
  • Limit meeting discussion to meeting agenda
  • Protest against any discussion or meeting activities which appear to violate this checklist  Consult with company counsel or specialized counsel on all questions related to competition law
  • Limit meeting discussion to meeting agenda

DO not

  • Communication about individual company/industry prices, price changes price differentials, discounts, allowances and credit terms
  • Communication about individual company data about any transport, supply chain costs or capacities (other than nameplate capacities)
  • Plans of individual production, distribution or marketing of particular products, including territory and costumers.
  • Communication about rates or company bids. 
  • Blacklist or boycott customers or suppliers.
