The ECLIC eECD is ready to be fully rolled out across Europe
In line with the global growth of moving tank containers across the chemical industry, the need for more proficient tank cleaning services is also required something which is supported by EFTCO, Cefic and ECTA who aim, together with ECLIC, to replace the paper ECD cleaning document with a digitally enhanced and more compliant digital eECD process.
To support this digital switch from paper to a more “paper-light’ sustainable and more compliant eECD process, ECLIC has made, over summer, the electronic EFTCO cleaning document available in six languages being EN,GE,NL,FR,ES and IT in preparation of its eECD roll out across Europe. In addition, a first tank cleaning station in Belgium is preparing itself to make the switch to 100% use of digital eECD documents through their cleaning software vendor who integrates the digital eECD process within the existing cleaning operations.
This way, they can minimize onboarding and training, further reduce administration costs, increase compliancy while offering a digital service to their customers. This also means that new digital eECD 2.0 hybrid documents from this cleaning station will very soon end up in the hands of carriers and loaders who do not yet have an ECLIC eECD licence.
Nevertheless, these carriers and loaders can decide to continue to work on paper or prepare themselves for digital industry transformation which is on-going. Please note that the hybrid eECD 2.0 paper versions are valid EFTCO cleaning documents similar to the paper ECD version while they include a QR barcode to crosscheck the latest ECD validity. A full description about the eECD 2.0 roll out can be downloaded  here.
It’s  now up to the individual companies to embrace the new digital eECD 2.0 version and join the ECLIC ecosystem that strives, through digital collaborations along the logistics chain, to reduce administration costs and increase the sustainability and enhance Responsible Care. The ECLIC eECD industry solution is fully standardized, technology neutral and is ready to connect via open source eECD API’s which can be used free of charge by your existing tank cleaning or TMS software IT vendors.
