ECTA Responsible Care Workshop and Training Day 2025

For the first time ever the ECTA RC workshop in October is a two day event. Taking place at the Sheraton, Brussels Airport on 8th and 9th October there are options to attend one or both days (with a discount if you register for both!).

On 8th October we are running a SHEQ training day, at the request of some of our members, which is aimed at people from the SHEQ department and is open to ECTA and non-ECTA members and subcontractors.
We will be training two key topics;

  • Risk Assessment – with practical examples around Working at Height and Confined Space Entry
  • Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis – with a realistic incident scenario to practice with.

With a wealth of experience in these topics, your trainers will be Steve Rowland (ECTA) and Thijs Van Oosterhout (GCA).

On 9th October we have the normal RC Workshop with a full agenda including ;

  • Use of alternative fuels, especially HVO100 with a presentation from LKW Walter followed by a panel discussion with representatives from Hoyer, Samat, GCA and LKW Walter
  • SQAS revision 2025 – Joost Naessens from Cefic will explain the main changes to the questionnaires that will be launched in September
  • Safety best practice guidelines – an update on the key safety aspects from recently published guidelines given by Jaap Van Welij of Hoyer and followed by an interactive Q&A to test your knowledge !
  • Round table discussions – following the same format as recent years and covering topical issues in the areas of safety, digitalisation, ESG reporting and emission calculation
  • Changes to CSRD/ESG reporting – Sonja Becker of Talke will explain how the omnibus proposals are affecting companies and clarifying the new requirements
  • ECTA update – Steve Rowland will share the KPI results and present changes for next years reporting and Peter Devos will give updates on the new Intermodal Digitalisation guidelines, the eECD progress, Women in Logistics and the ECTA Drivers App.
